4 day weekend

it's been a while since i've written and the reason for that the same that i'm for. they give you so much work here. i mean like i've had to do at least 14 drawings between tuesday and thursday night. on top of that i've been trying to exercise everyday and do things with my friends. idk i'm probably being dramatic but it's definitely a whole lot more work than what i'm used to at nku. today i got assigned this project where we have to make an accordian book of 7 pages and on each page we have to do a contour line drawing each of which should take at least an hour to do. and the whole book has to have a theme. it's not due until the 25th so i've got some time but uggg drawing takes so much time. also we get monday off cause of MLK jr. day. i think there's a parade or something here so that'll be cool. anyway we didn't get any of the snow from that nation-wide storm. bummer. it hit like everywhere around us. it's just been really cold here (i mean not as cold as the good ol nky but still cold.). i've been making some new friends too. i really want to laugh though. idk if people just aren't comfortable enough around me yet or most people just aren't that funny but i haven't really met anyone that i can laugh with yet. everyone here is pretty nice though. (except for that girl at the gas station who refused to give me quarters for my dollar so i could fill up my tire with air unless i bought something because she said they were running low. when she opened the drawer it was overflowing with quarters.) tuesday was a pretty bad day. it wasn't like i broke my leg or somebody stole my computer or something, it was just one thing after another. you'll have to ask me about it. tonight i'm going to the csf again (i hope they always have food like they did last time). then tomorrow night i'm going to this movie night thing at my friends apt. saturday, maybe a bonfire. i went to this place called zunzie's (a south african food place) for lunch yesterday. everyone makes over how good it is but i didn't really like it too much. probably cause i'm really picky though. it might also have to do with the fact that we had to eat outside and it was really cold. last night we went to this presbyterian student thing. i got presbyterian and pentecostal confused before we got there so i was a little nervous but it turned out i was wrong. haha. also i found this pretty cool thrift store on broughton and i turned in my resume at marc jacobs. but other than that not that much has happened since i wrote last but the week has gone by so fast and my last class is canceled tonight so my 4 day weekend has officially started. i wish my friends were here so we could play super smash or get slushies or chill in a hot tub or go to steak n shake or ihop or boneless thursday or make fun of each other together.

so more from the lad at scad per your request. 2 days ago (thursday) was a pretty good day, even though i had 2 classes that day. my last class that day, design 1 was actually pretty cool. everyone in there was chatting it up and stuff. i can tell that one's going to be fun. anyway that night i went to the csf (christian student fellowship) and it was pretty sweet. like everyone there was cool. idk i think that's the most amount of cool people in one place that i've seen so far. (not that i'm going to start going there because it's "cool", but it helps.) anyway everyone was really friendly and they invited me to their bible study and worship service on sunday so i'm gonna go. we just watched a movie (we get fridays off so it was like a weekend night). also they told me i could do laundry there for free. but i'm gonna hold off on that until people really know who i am cuase i don't want them to think i'm some weirdo off the street that came to do his laundry. but yesterday was nice too. i slept in and then went to go art supply shopping and i incidentally met up with two people from that design class and we ended up searching for supplies together all day. they were pretty cool. then that night me and some friends went and saw scott pilgrim cause they were showing it at the theater for scad students. the place was packed. seriously we got there like 10 or 15 minutes early and the lower level and half the balcony was already full. anyway they brought the creative director and some other high up person from the company that did the comics and characters for the movie. it was really neat even though i had no idea what they were talking about. it was really fun cause everyone during the movie was like laughing and clapping and stuff. it got rowdy. then today i got up early to go to yoga at the gym and i got there like 5 min before the class started and they told me it was already full. they said you have to come really early to get in. which is weird cause they have it everyday so you would think it wouldn't be packed everyday. so i just ran instead. i have this project for class where i have to take pictures of letters that i find in shapes of things. like i can't take a picture of a letter on a sign though. so today i literally walked all over savannah with a disposable camera taking pictures. i'll upload some of them because i couldn't resist taking pictures of pretty houses and stuff on the way. anyway i'm back in my room now and my feet hurt.

first day!

ok. so so much has happened and is going to happen here (i hope) that i thought i would start a blog. also there have been quite a few people wanting to know what's going on down here so here ya go. well last night i met quite a few people. most of the time i've just been going up to random people and talking to them. i guess it works. the first people i just asked to sit with them at dinner and then never left them that night. (they actually liked me, i'm not some weirdo.) anyway then there was some kind of transfer student mixer at the ballroom next door in the civic center that i was like an hour late to because i forgot about it (luckly i was just in time for the mixer part of it.) anyway today was the first day of classes... well this is just on my mind cause i just took a shower but the shower here is so dumb. it's an okay temp for like 30 sec then it starts to scald your skin off for like 5 sec, then it's freezing for another 5, and then it's fine again. it's pretty much not cool. anyway i drove to class today cause my first class on mon. & wed. is like 30 blocks away (not exaggerating). it was the coolest drive ever. i got to drive all the way down bull st. and around all these beautiful squares with amazing historic houses and then around forsyth park. it was awesome. then it rained (interesting i know.). no but i guess the rain here stinks really bad cause the whole city smelled like pizza & poop. then the rest of the day i've been trying to make my room a home (meaning 2 trips to walmart and a trip to staples and target). anyway i just got back from the gym. it wasn't really that awesome. they didn't even have a locker room so i was forced to change in the bathroom. but the cool part is they have a live dj there like mixing dance music and stuff. i was like, "who is that weird guy standing behind a table with headphones?" also the treadmills have like touch screens and you can play the tv on it and put your ipod on this dock thing. anyway, i hope i didn't bore you too much... oh yeah i forgot, when i went to walmart today i was walking down an isle talking to my dad on the phone and not paying attention and i looked up and there was this guy getting arrested right in front of me. it was definitely strange. i wanted to take a picture on my phone but it makes a loud noise so... anyway tomorrow is day numba 2!
